Front-End Loader & Skid Steer Training Program

HEO Academy’s two-week Loader Course provides practical training on two of the most widely used machines in construction, material handling, forestry, mining, quarries and site development.

Students train on both a front-end loader and skid steer while learning safe operation, material handling, loading, grading, attachment use and equipment inspections.

This program is a strong option for students who want a shorter, affordable entry into heavy equipment operation while still gaining experience on multiple machines.

Train on Two Essential Machines

What You Will Master

Loader operators must understand machine balance, material movement, visibility, load control and safe travel. Students develop practical skills through real operating assignments instead of simulator-based training.

Truck Loading

Position the machine correctly and load trucks safely, evenly and efficiently.

Stockpile Management

Build, maintain and reclaim material stockpiles while keeping work areas organized.

Bucket Control

Develop smooth bucket movements for loading, carrying, dumping and spreading material.

Material Handling

Move soil, gravel, debris and other materials while protecting the machine and surrounding work area.

Grading & Cleanup

Use the loader and skid steer to smooth surfaces, clean work areas and complete finish work.

Attachment Changes

Learn safe attachment procedures and proper use of common loader and skid steer attachments.

Safe Travel

Maintain proper travel height, visibility and machine stability while carrying material.

Operating on Slopes

Understand machine positioning, center of gravity and safe operating practices on uneven ground.

By the End of Training, You Will Be Prepared To:

  • Complete basic inspections on front-end loaders and skid steers.
  • Operate both machines with greater control and confidence.
  • Load trucks and move material efficiently.
  • Maintain stockpiles and organized work areas.
  • Use common skid steer and loader attachments safely.
  • Carry loads at a safe travel height.
  • Perform basic grading, spreading and cleanup work.
  • Work safely and productively as part of a construction crew.
